Introduction and Scope

G.I. Jean LLC (“G.I. Jean,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) values transparency and respects the privacy of visitors, customers, subscribers, reviewers, and others who interact with our business. This Privacy Statement describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information through our website at https://www.gijean.com, our online store and checkout experiences, forms, email campaigns, marketing automations, product reviews, testimonials, social-media activities, and any related online service that links to this Privacy Statement (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Statement applies when an individual browses the Services, purchases or considers purchasing a product, subscribes to communications, submits a form, communicates with us, posts a review or testimonial, interacts with a marketing message, or otherwise provides information to G.I. Jean. It also applies to information created through website operation, analytics, order fulfillment, delivery, fraud prevention, and customer service.

This Privacy Statement does not govern a third party’s independent website, application, payment environment, carrier service, or social-media platform. Those organizations publish and apply their own privacy notices.

Where applicable law requires consent, we seek consent before the relevant processing. Where processing is necessary to provide a requested product or service, comply with law, protect the Services, or pursue another lawful business purpose, we process information on the corresponding lawful basis.

Definitions

“Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to an individual or household. Depending on the applicable law, similar concepts may be called “personal data.” Personal information generally does not include information that is lawfully public, aggregated, or deidentified so that it cannot reasonably identify an individual.

“Processing” means an operation performed on personal information, including collecting, recording, organizing, storing, adapting, retrieving, using, analyzing, disclosing, transmitting, combining, restricting, deleting, or destroying it.

“Service provider” means an organization that processes personal information to perform a service for G.I. Jean, subject to contractual or legal responsibilities appropriate to its role. A third party may instead act as an independent business or controller when it determines its own purposes and means of processing.

“Cookie” means a small data file stored or accessed through a browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, scripts, local storage, software development kits, and comparable tools. “Targeted advertising” generally means selecting advertising based on personal information obtained from activity across nonaffiliated websites or applications, although legal definitions vary.

Personal Information We Collect

Contact and Identity Information

When an individual places an order, subscribes, submits a form, requests support, provides a review, or otherwise communicates with us, we may collect a name, email address, telephone number, billing address, shipping address, business name, and other contact information voluntarily provided. We use this information to identify the request, communicate, provide services, and maintain appropriate records.

Order and Commercial Information

When an individual shops with G.I. Jean, we may collect products viewed, cart contents, products purchased, quantity, order number, transaction date, price, discounts, currency, payment status, billing and delivery details, shipment status, tracking information, returns, refunds, warranty or support history, and related correspondence. We need this information to complete the transaction, manufacture or prepare products, fulfill and ship orders, handle customer service, and maintain legal and business records.

Payment-Related Information

Payment credentials are submitted through Squarespace Payments, PayPal, Square, or another payment method made available at checkout or point of sale. G.I. Jean generally receives transaction confirmation and limited details needed to reconcile and support the purchase. Complete card credentials are generally handled by the payment service rather than stored by G.I. Jean. Payment providers may collect additional information for authentication, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and payment processing under their own privacy notices.

Communications, Forms, and Customer Support

We collect the content of messages, form submissions, support requests, attachments, feedback, questions, and correspondence sent to admin@gijean.com or through the Services. Google Workspace and Squarespace may process communications in support of these functions. Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card information, government identification numbers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary email or general website forms.

Newsletter and Marketing Information

When an individual subscribes or otherwise requests communications, we may collect a name, email address, subscription source, consent record, preferences, campaign activity, delivery status, opens, clicks, and unsubscribe status to the extent generated by Squarespace Campaigns, Squarespace Marketing Automations, or related tools. This information helps deliver communications, honor preferences, evaluate campaign performance, and prevent messages from being sent after an opt-out.

Reviews, Testimonials, and User Content

If a customer submits a rating, review, testimonial, photograph, statement, or other content, we may collect the content, submitted name or display name, product reference, date, and any related correspondence or permission. The contributor chooses what to provide. Approved content may be displayed publicly and may be associated with a name or other attribution disclosed at submission.

Technical, Device, and Usage Information

Squarespace and authorized technologies may collect an IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, language, referral source, pages viewed, links selected, dates and times, session activity, cart interactions, errors, and approximate location derived from an IP address. We use such information to operate and secure the Services, understand performance, diagnose problems, and improve the visitor experience.

Sensitive Personal Information

G.I. Jean does not intend to collect sensitive personal information through normal website activity except where necessary to provide a transaction or comply with law. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. If a specific process requires sensitive information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.

Aggregated and Deidentified Information

We may combine information or remove identifiers to create aggregated or deidentified information for analytics, planning, research, security, and improvement. Where law requires deidentified information to remain deidentified, we will not attempt to reidentify it and will take reasonable measures to maintain that status.

Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from individuals when they browse, purchase, subscribe, submit content, communicate, or use a feature. We also receive information automatically from browsers, devices, Squarespace, cookies, analytics, and security systems. Transaction and delivery information may come from Squarespace Payments, PayPal, Square, USPS, UPS, FedEx, or related services. Social-platform information may be generated when an individual follows a link, interacts with G.I. Jean content, or engages through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn.

We may receive information from lawful public or business sources, professional advisers, fraud-prevention services, and other organizations when permitted. We do not intentionally collect information from data brokers for unrelated profiling. If our sources or practices materially change, we will revise this Statement as appropriate.

How and Why We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to operate and secure the Services; provide products and customer support; process and confirm transactions; manufacture or prepare products; manage inventory; package, fulfill, distribute, deliver, return, or refund orders; and communicate about purchases, shipping, service issues, safety, security, and policy changes.

We also use information to respond to questions and complaints; administer subscriptions; send requested or permitted educational updates, newsletters, product announcements, promotions, post-purchase information, review requests, and abandoned-cart reminders; analyze traffic and campaign performance; improve products and website content; prevent fraud and abuse; maintain tax, accounting, shipping, quality, customer-service, and compliance records; protect legal rights; resolve disputes; and comply with law.

Legal Bases for EEA, UK, and Similar Jurisdictions

Where a legal basis is required, we may process information because it is necessary to perform a contract or take requested steps before entering a contract; necessary to comply with a legal obligation; necessary for a legitimate interest that is not overridden by the individual’s rights; necessary to protect vital interests; or based on consent. Legitimate interests may include operating and securing the Services, communicating with customers, improving offerings, preventing fraud, and managing the business. An individual may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

‍Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

How the Technologies Work

The Services use cookies and similar technologies through Squarespace and authorized integrations. Necessary technologies support security, network management, shopping carts, checkout, customer-requested functions, and fraud prevention. Preference technologies remember choices. Analytics technologies help us understand traffic, interactions, errors, and performance. Advertising or social technologies, when enabled, may measure campaigns, support embedded features, or help select advertising. Squarespace explains its current website cookies in The Cookies Squarespace Uses and describes its broader data practices in the Squarespace Privacy Policy.

Cookie Controls

G.I. Jean has enabled the cookie banner and Manage cookies option and restricts nonessential cookies. Visitors can use those controls to make available choices. When applicable law requires affirmative consent, nonessential technologies should not be activated for that visitor until the appropriate consent is provided. Browser settings may also delete or block cookies, although doing so may affect website functions.

Analytics and Activity Log

G.I. Jean uses Squarespace Analytics and has enabled activity logging. These tools help us understand website traffic, page performance, interactions, referral sources, geographic trends, sales activity, and technical issues. The information generated may include an IP address and related usage or device data. Squarespace cookie and privacy help center

Advertising Technologies and Preference Signals

If G.I. Jean enables Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, audience matching, conversion tracking, or comparable technology, the relevant platform may collect or receive online activity or identifiers to measure campaigns or select advertising. We will review the cookie banner, consent settings, and privacy disclosures before or when such tools are activated. Where required and supported, we will treat a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as an opt-out request for covered sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for the browser or device that sends the signal.

Do Not Track

Because there is no uniform industry standard for responding to browser Do Not Track signals, the Services may not respond to such a signal unless applicable law requires it. Visitors may use Manage cookies, browser controls, platform settings, and the contact methods in this Statement.

E-Commerce, Payments, Manufacturing, Fulfillment, and Shipping

Commerce and Payment Options

G.I. Jean uses Squarespace to operate the online store and uses Squarespace Payments, PayPal, and Square in connection with available payment experiences. Available methods may include card, wallet, account-based, or point-of-sale options displayed at checkout or sale. A payment provider may process identifiers, financial information, device information, authentication information, and transaction details to authorize and settle payment, prevent fraud, manage disputes, and comply with financial laws.

The payment provider’s own privacy notice governs its independent processing. G.I. Jean uses transaction information received from those services to verify payment, reconcile records, process returns or refunds, respond to disputes, and support the purchase. Multi-currency display or checkout may involve currency conversion and related transaction data handled by the relevant commerce and payment services.

Direct Manufacturing and Fulfillment

G.I. Jean directly manages manufacturing, inventory, storage, packaging, order fulfillment, and distribution. “Fulfillment” means the operational process from receiving a customer’s completed order through selecting or manufacturing the product, preparing and packaging it, creating shipment information, transferring the package to a carrier, and maintaining related order records. Because G.I. Jean performs these functions directly, order information is generally used internally for production planning, quality and inventory control, packing, customer communication, and shipment preparation rather than being sent to an independent fulfillment warehouse.

Shipping and Delivery

G.I. Jean may ship through the United States Postal Service, UPS, or FedEx. We disclose information that is reasonably necessary to create a shipment, deliver and track a package, answer delivery questions, manage a return, investigate a loss or damage claim, or comply with carrier and legal requirements. This information may include recipient name, address, telephone number when required, email for shipment notifications, package characteristics, tracking number, delivery instructions, and order-related reference information. A carrier may process information independently under its own privacy notice. USPS Privacy Policy, UPS Privacy Notice, FedEx Privacy Notice

Email Campaigns, Marketing Automations, and Communications

Squarespace Campaigns and Automations

G.I. Jean uses or may use Squarespace Campaigns and Squarespace Marketing Automations to administer subscriber lists and send messages. Communications may include welcome and follow-up sequences, responses to form submissions, educational content, product announcements, research updates, promotions, post-purchase recommendations, abandoned-cart reminders, customer-review requests, and similar communications associated with a customer’s relationship with G.I. Jean.

Consent and Preferences

Where consent is required, we seek an affirmative subscription or other valid permission before sending marketing communications. A purchase does not automatically authorize every form of marketing. Service or transactional messages, such as order confirmations, shipment updates, security notices, or direct responses, may still be sent when needed to provide a requested service or meet a legal obligation.

Every marketing email should provide a usable unsubscribe mechanism. An individual may also email admin@gijean.com. We retain suppression or unsubscribe information as necessary to honor the choice and avoid resubscribing the address without appropriate authorization.

G.I. Jean uses Google Workspace for company email and business communications. Messages sent to or from G.I. Jean addresses may be processed and retained through Google Workspace according to our settings and Google’s applicable terms and the  Google Privacy Policy. Google Workspace business email is distinct from Squarespace email campaigns, although customer communications may involve both environments.

Campaign Measurement

Squarespace Campaigns and Marketing Automations may generate delivery, bounce, open, click, engagement, or conversion information. We use such information to administer communications, diagnose delivery, understand engagement, and improve relevance. If a visitor does not want email engagement technologies, the visitor may unsubscribe; available controls may also depend on the email application and device.

Google Workspace

G.I. Jean uses Google Workspace for company email and business communications. Messages sent to or from G.I. Jean addresses may be processed and retained through Google Workspace according to our settings and Google’s applicable terms and privacy documentation. Google Workspace business email is distinct from Squarespace email campaigns, although messages and customer-service responses may involve both environments. Google Privacy Policy

Reviews, Testimonials, and Other User Content

Customers may voluntarily submit reviews, ratings, testimonials, feedback, photographs, or other content. A submission should not include confidential information, medical details, complete payment information, or information about another individual without authority. Before posting a testimonial beyond an ordinary review context, G.I. Jean may seek permission regarding the content and attribution.

Content intended for publication may become visible to the public and may be indexed, copied, or shared. G.I. Jean may moderate, decline, edit for formatting or clarity where authorized, or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, irrelevant, abusive, infringing, contains sensitive information, or violates applicable terms. Review moderation should not be used to create a misleading impression about genuine consumer experiences.

Squarespace Marketing Automations may be used to request reviews following a purchase. The request may use order contact information and product data. Receipt of a review request does not require a customer to submit content. If offered, any incentive will be disclosed and administered in accordance with applicable rules.

Social Media, Advertising, and Third-Party Features

G.I. Jean uses or plans to use Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn for marketing, education, public engagement, and customer communication. When an individual visits our profile, comments, shares, sends a message, clicks a social link, or interacts with embedded content, the platform may process account, device, activity, and interaction information under its own privacy policy. Content posted publicly may be visible to other users.

If G.I. Jean uses paid advertising, a platform may provide campaign reporting, audience tools, or conversion measurement. G.I. Jean will use available settings and required consent or opt-out mechanisms appropriate to the technology. Individuals may also adjust privacy and advertising settings directly with the relevant platform. Meta Privacy Policy for Facebook and Instagram, Instagram Privacy Center, TikTok U.S. Privacy Policy, LinkedIn Privacy Policy

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to recipients that perform or support the purposes described in this Statement. These include Squarespace for website, commerce, analytics, campaigns, marketing automation, hosting, and security; Google Workspace for business communications; Squarespace Payments, PayPal, and Square for payments; USPS, UPS, and FedEx for shipping; social platforms for connected or advertising features; and providers of professional, technical, fraud-prevention, accounting, tax, insurance, legal, and security services.

We may disclose information to government authorities, courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is required or permitted by law, legal process, a valid governmental request, or the need to protect rights, property, safety, or security. We may also disclose information to investigate fraud, enforce terms, respond to an emergency, or establish or defend legal claims.

If G.I. Jean is involved in a proposed or completed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed to advisers, counterparties, and successors subject to appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information with consent or at an individual’s direction.

We do not sell personal information for money. We require service providers to handle personal information consistently with their role, contract, and applicable law. Independent third parties are responsible for their own disclosed processing.

Data Retention

G.I. Jean retains personal information for the period reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legitimate business and legal needs. Retention depends on the information and context rather than a single universal period. Relevant factors include the customer relationship, order and warranty needs, manufacturing and shipment records, tax and accounting requirements, regulatory obligations, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, statutes of limitation, consent status, and whether information is needed to honor an unsubscribe or privacy request.

Order, payment-confirmation, shipping, tax, and accounting records may be retained for the period required by financial and legal responsibilities. Customer-service communications may be retained while a matter is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Marketing information is retained while a subscription remains active and afterward as necessary to document consent and suppress unsubscribed addresses. Technical logs may be retained for shorter operational periods unless needed for security, fraud, or legal reasons. Public reviews may remain published until removed by G.I. Jean, withdrawn where an applicable right exists, or no longer needed.

When retention is no longer justified, we may delete information, anonymize or deidentify it, or securely isolate it until deletion is practical. Copies may remain temporarily in backups and disaster-recovery systems and will be handled under applicable retention and security controls.

Data Security

G.I. Jean uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. Measures may include access limitations, account security, vendor review, software updates, encryption where appropriate, backups, employee or contractor confidentiality expectations, and procedures for investigating suspected incidents.

Squarespace publishes information about its security and privacy measures. Squarespace cookie and privacy help center  Payment providers also maintain security programs relevant to their services. No system, storage method, or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Individuals should use secure devices and networks, protect account credentials, avoid sending sensitive information through ordinary email, and notify us promptly about suspected unauthorized activity related to G.I. Jean.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Cookie and Advertising Choices

Visitors can use Manage cookies on the website to review available cookie choices and may use browser settings to block or delete cookies. Platform-level advertising choices may be available through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or the browser or device. Choices may apply only to the browser, device, account, or platform through which they are made.

Requests to Access, Correct, Delete, or Obtain Information

Depending on residence and legal applicability, an individual may have a right to confirm whether we process personal information; access or obtain a copy; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; obtain portable information; learn about categories of sources, purposes, and recipients; opt out of covered sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive information; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision.

Submit a request to admin@gijean.com or mail it to G.I. Jean LLC, 9128 Old River Rd., Petal, MS 39465. Identify the request, describe the records or relationship involved, and provide enough information for us to locate relevant records. Do not send sensitive identification documents unless requested through a suitable method.

Verification, Authorized Agents, and Appeals

We may take reasonable steps to verify identity and authority in proportion to the request and sensitivity of the information. An authorized agent may act where permitted, subject to proof of authority and direct verification when appropriate. Rights are subject to legal exceptions, and we may deny or limit a request when we cannot verify it, when information must be retained, or when another exception applies. Where an appeal right exists, our response will explain how to appeal. We will not discriminate against an individual for exercising an applicable privacy right.

U.S. State Privacy Notice

This section supplements the remainder of the Statement for residents of U.S. states with applicable comprehensive consumer privacy laws. Whether a particular law applies to G.I. Jean may depend on revenue, data volumes, the nature of information, business activities, and statutory exemptions. We honor rights when and to the extent the relevant law applies.

Categories and Business Purposes

During the preceding twelve months, depending on interactions, we may have collected identifiers and contact details; customer-record information; commercial information; internet or electronic activity; approximate geolocation derived from an IP address; payment and transaction information handled through payment services; communications and user content; and inferences about interests or preferences generated from interactions.

Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

G.I. Jean does not sell personal information for money. Certain advertising pixels, audience tools, analytics disclosures, or cross-site advertising may be defined as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some laws. When a covered technology is active and a law applies, eligible residents may use Manage cookies, a recognized opt-out preference signal where supported and required, or admin@gijean.com to exercise an opt-out right.

Sensitive Information and Minors

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about an individual. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under age sixteen for cross-context behavioral advertising. If practices change, we will provide any required notice and consent mechanism.

California Disclosures

If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain information about categories of collection and disclosure, and opt out of covered sale or sharing. California Civil Code section 1798.83 may provide certain residents a right to request information about disclosure for third parties’ own direct-marketing purposes. A request should identify “California Shine the Light” and be sent to admin@gijean.com.

Financial Incentives

G.I. Jean does not currently describe a program that provides a price or service difference in exchange for personal information. If we introduce a covered loyalty or financial-incentive program, we will provide the legally required notice before enrollment.

Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under thirteen. G.I. Jean does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under thirteen. If we learn that a child provided personal information without legally valid authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian may contact admin@gijean.com. Additional protections for minors will be applied where required.

International Visitors and Cross-Border Transfers

G.I. Jean is based in the United States. If you use the Services from another country, personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or another country where a provider operates. Those countries may have privacy laws different from your home jurisdiction. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism, we rely on an appropriate legal basis and safeguards associated with the relevant provider or transaction.

Squarespace states in its GDPR and Squarespace guidance that it uses European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for covered transfers. Squarespace also provides a Data Processing Addendum and explains its own processing in the Squarespace Privacy Policy. Those safeguards concern Squarespace’s processing and do not mean that every G.I. Jean provider uses the same transfer mechanism.

Individuals in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain other jurisdictions may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, receive portable information, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority, subject to legal applicability and exceptions. Requests to G.I. Jean may be sent to admin@gijean.com.

The Services may link to or integrate with Squarespace, Google Workspace, payment services, carriers, social platforms, embedded media, and other third parties. G.I. Jean does not control an independent third party’s privacy, security, content, or practices. A link does not mean we endorse or guarantee those practices. Individuals should review the relevant privacy notice before providing information.

Changes to This Privacy Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement to reflect changes in the Services, technology, providers, business practices, or legal obligations. The revised version will be posted at https://www.gijean.com with an updated effective date. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it through an appropriate method, such as a website notice, email, renewed cookie choice, or other legally required process.
